7 Special Ways to Celebrate Anniversary at Home

Published

on

I have always been big on celebrations, be it birthdays or baby showers. Nevertheless, the excitement of an anniversary is always on top. Why do you ask? Well, it is because an anniversary is a celebration of a union of a relationship.

Two years back when Covid hit us, most people felt that celebrations are pointless without fancy dinners and exotic trips. But there’s no truth in it.

To be honest, I have had some of the most memorable birthday and anniversary celebrations in the last two years. Especially because this is the first time I breathed in the homely vibe, and absolutely loved it!

Now, I would like to share how over the past two years, I have been celebrating milestones in my life, which will inspire you to celebrate your anniversary, at home!

1. Deck up the house

You can celebrate your anniversary in two ways. One when you want to surprise your partner and two when you both are equally participating in making the day special.

For the latter, decorating the house together is a nice place to start from. Start from the dining room, light some candles, throw in some roses and order a cake.

If it is a surprise you are planning to give to your partner, you can always invite your partner’s intimate friends and some close family members. They can not only help you with the decoration but also add to the fun of the party.

2. Play dress up

Just because you are planning to stay indoors, doesn’t mean you cannot dress up. For the guys, it is time you take out that tuxedo, and for women, why not get into that wedding dress after so many years? It may seem OTT, but trust me, it feels really special.

3. Cook together

When the conversation is of romantic settings, is there anything more romantic than cooking or baking together? So, wear your aprons, find a recipe on YouTube and get your hands dirty! No, no, I don’t mean anything dirty! 😉

It doesn’t always have to be anything fancy as well. Bake a cake, cook pasta or maybe just brew some coffee – the dish doesn’t matter, what really matters is the love that you both cook it with.

4. Create at-home cinematic experience

Of course, we all miss watching movies at theaters. So why not create a stay-at-home movie experience, for your anniversary celebrations?

Turn down the lights, order a projector and a white screen, make some popcorn and play your partner’s favorite movie.

5. Plan for a special gift

No, this doesn’t mean that you cannot celebrate anniversaries without gifting each other, but it only makes things better, doesn’t it? But the thing with gifts is, most of us invest hours and hours thinking about it, and still end up getting it all wrong.

So, here’s a pro tip: make sure the gift is what your partner desires, not what you like. Right from diamond engagement rings to even a bouquet of roses – there’s nothing big or small. In the end, it’s your love that matters.

6. Invite your friends and family

You can have your anniversary celebration in a quiet and intimate way if you want, but if you and your partner are party beings, you can always invite your family over. They will make things all the more fun.

In fact, you both can first enjoy a private and intimate celebration, and then, organize a small party with close friends and family. This way you have the best of both worlds.

7. Book a couple spa

What better way to celebrate your union than unwinding the daily stress? So, book a couple spa sessions in the nearby salon that can give you the service at home. It’s going to be worth it, I promise!

Over to you…

So, these were a few tips from my box to make your day fun and super special. You can always add your own personal touch to it to make it even more special.
